Oh Canada

I have recently received my mission call to serve for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints in the beautiful Calgary Canada.
As I prepare for the day I depart I have come to understand better the meaning of self worth. I also am understanding The Great Plan of Happiness.
I have come to appreciate all that the Savior has done for me and all of His children here on Earth. We have been tutored and prepared for this life to bring those who love the Lord back into His presence. Earth is a necessary step in order to gain experience and gifts, like our bodies, that we wouldn't have been able to gain otherwise.
As I learn more I can't help but feel such gratitude for all I have been blessed with. With the Lord anything is possible.
I had dreams bigger then anything I knew. Very quickly I saw these dreams shatter and fall out of grasp, there was nothing I could do about it. I had absolutely tried everything in my power and people around me tried everything for me. I learned that's what is important. Is being surrounded by such love and service. Then I realized how indebted I am, and no matter what I do like trying to reach this dream of mine, no matter what I will never be able to do enough. That's how it is with the Lord. He has blessed me so much and no matter how much I serve, how much I progress and choose the right, it will never be enough. And you know what? It is OK. That's the plan. So everyday, every minute of our lives we keep trying, keep growing and the Lord will pick up the slack and all that you worked for every time you turned down wearing that immodest swimsuit, didn't go to that party, hung out with your parents and felt you had no friends. Every one of those times you TRIED will be worth it.
We need to remember, God doesn't make mistakes. It's people who make mistakes. And mistakes are made to learn and to become more like God.
"You should have seen the way He smiled the day that He made you."
You have a purpose. Fulfill it. Make sure your goals aren't on the world's standards, but set to the Lord's standards.
Just look around the Lord who made those beautiful mountains, the beautiful rivers and sunsets, that's the hand that created you as well.
Live up to your potential.
I will keep preparing to embark on my journey to this beautiful country. I am grateful for this life changing experience. I am grateful for all of the people and the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. I hope somehow in some small way I can touch hearts with this knowledge and the testimony that I have.

Happy Sunday!
XOXO

My senior year summed up in just a few pictures!

{All the Graduation announcements!}

{Memorial Day}

{-some- of Graduation}

{Jenga in seminary, we miss Lotta!}

{consequences of hitting barrels}

{Earned through the sweat, blood, and pain}

{This week at state my friend Halie came to watch me and we made a s'mookie}

So this week has been state rodeo, i have been practicing EVERY single day since January to try to make nationals my last chance EVER!
I was pumped, i thought i had it in the bag.
Districts went perfect for me i didn't tip one pole.
State has been a different story, i have seen all of my dreams get flushed down the toilet.
I've felt like i have let everyone down, and really i don't have any idea what else i could have done. My horse have so much heart and worked perfectly, i went down swinging, i have nothing left in me that could have been put into those runs. I am so grateful to have the most amazing support team ever. Although i have been crying on many shoulders including my horses after reading this (thanks to my sister Ashley) it put things a little more into perspective. Maybe somebody else worked just as hard or harder then me, maybe it will be more of a benefit for their life then mine. or maybe, just maybe God is preparing me for bigger things ahead. It's hard to see the big picture sometimes and it's hard to see the blessings in the hard times. It's things like great family and friends that remind you that maybe you still are great and you still are loved even though you knocked a barrel over.

And it's being reassured over and over that helps to get you through because it is so easy to forget.
So thank you everyone for being there for the talks, thoughts, hugs and the shoulders to cry on.

Wrappin it up.

To wrap up my summer I decided to take a little vacay down to Utah.

I rode down with my brother-in-law Jordan and he was so proud because I didn't plug my headphones into my ears once! It really was an eventful drive we jammed to the oldies and we made pretty good time!Although we made Ashley believe we were running way late! Teehee:) We're so sneaky Jordan even fooled me!

Anways down in Utah we expeienced some amazing things such as J-Dawgs, 7 peaks {yes i mastered my fear and went down the three biggest slides}, Awful Waffle, I toured UVU and BYU's campuses {thanks to my seesters}, Paradise Bakery, and I went with Ashley to her back to school night! That week was a blast and a half! I didn't want to leave! The weather was lovely, and we just had a party the whole time, its rough stepping back into the real world

{while sitting in Ashley's desk at back to school night I sat reading Calvin and Hobbs and using up almost an entire pad of post its writing her notes}

{After 7 peaks}

Lessons Learned...

This past year I have learned a lot, I have lost four really great friends of mine,
three of those four rodeoed with me, and in rodeo...we're a pretty tight knit little family.
But the death that started it was Brody Newman, I had my drivers ed class with him,
he was a year younger then me...he died in a 4-wheeler accident checking pivots for his dad.
I couldn't believe it, i have never felt my heart actually ache until i came home and heard this.
About three weeks later, Mabry Neville and Loren Johnson were in a car accident about a mile
away from the junction they were on their way home from Rexburg and lost control of the car.
They were cousins and you never saw one with out the other.
They were like my sisters this toughened me up when I rode horses with them in 4-h.
They didn't take my crap and they pushed me and helped me over come my fears.
I love those girls, and I have missed their smiles, positive attitudes and never quit attitudes.
This past tuesday another District 1 rodeo member died in a car crash.
Marissa Bebe go here to read her story.
My first year in rodeo we were head to head to win all around girls rookie of the year.
I wasn't the nicest because she was competition and i was getting my head in the game.
I was determined to win that buckle.
I eneded up winning by just a couple points, it was really close.
This next rodeo season all she was, was nice to me.
She came right up to me with a smile on her face and said i think you beat me in for rookie last year! Good job!
Then and there i realized what a terd i was.
After that we became good friends she told me about her life, she needed someone to talk to because it wasn't the easiest.
We talked about our events and what our plans were.
She was going to move to Boise to play hockey, it was her passion.
She made it to state in rodeo this year in Barrels and Poles, Her first hear at state, She was very excited and proud of herself as anyone should be!

I guess what I'm saying is, be everyones friend, even in competition be nice don't get too into yourself and competitive and NEVER judge someone, you have no idea what they are going through, even if they come off a little harsh or strange because a life can end in a second, and it hurts and no matter how many times I go through it I am just glad i have the comfort of the gospel to make these situations bareable.

I love you Brody, Mabry, Loren , and Marissa.

To End The Silence.

Once and for all..i hope i can get better at this blogging thing!

Well life has been great and busy, i went to Utah for my spring break!

I rode this lovely vehicle.

Yeeeah thats right that's my rig!

And it took about 5 hours to get down to cute little provo ya we took our sweet little time. But you know once I saw my seesters smiling face i cheered right up! I was so jacked to see Hailey, Ashley, and Jordan! We had such a good time! Hailey and I went to a cute little french bakery, it was legit and so cute I loved it. I also went to Mrs. Furness' (aka the best teacher ever my sister Ashley) school :) I loved it! The students gave cute presentations and we had a fun lunch out on the grass with all the other teachers, it was such i nice warm day! Then to celebrate Hailey's birthday we went to Jump On It, they had a foam pit and everything! And a little advice, if you are a guy and you like going places in short shorts, please decide against it and keep situations not awkward for everyone thank you much. The next morning we ended up waking up to snow but i love snow because it sparkles in the sunshine and is so pretty! Too bad it isn't warm when the snow is sticking to the ground. But we were going to conference and so it was a very good day! I loved every talk, i felt the spirit so strong. And I kept thinking about how these words I was hearing were coming straight from the Lord and I gained a stronger testimony that these men really do communicate with Him and that their council is not to limit us, but to protect us and keep us safe because they do love us and care about us all.

{Me & Hailey...Hailey & Me...WE}

Well when spring break ended I was bummed because i had so much fun but it's always refreshing to come home!

Then this passed week I went with my FFA group to Twin Falls! I had the opportunity to judge horses for about 7 1/2 hours. It was a very long time. But so worth it! I had such a fun time. My team got 18th and I got the highest score on my team! I was pretty excited. We did pretty well :) Also on this trip we took a drive up to the beautiful Shoshone falls. And a cute little lake near it.

{The Falls}

{At the lake. Me, Ali, Andi, Kaisha Maribel}

Well have a lovely weekend.

P.S. Rodeo starts in exactly two weeks!!! Oh my I'm way jacked! Just hope this weather warms up and dries out the ground so I can ride outside.

Back to the grind.

This morning i had a hard time waking up at 7 instead of the 10-10:30 times i woke up during the nice long break we had. I didn't end up getting out of bed until around 7:30 or later..i'm not for sure. I had to toss my hair up in a fabulous little ponytail and run out the door. On my way out i realized i hadn't started my pick up so it was all sorts of frosty. So my wonderful daddio let my drive his little unfrosty number to school and he was so kind to gas mine up and drive it down for me and trade me off(: Thanks Dad!! I owe you one!

School seemed to drag on for me today..and i didn't really like it. i kept thinking of all the better things i could be doing if i was at home. But i got through it..too bad its only monday. Sigh**

I hope you had a good monday..

But look how clear and pretty it is today just out of my window!

2011 here i come.

Every year I make new years resolutions and I never stick to them so this year my resolutions are things that I can actually keep.
  • My brother coming home
  • Get night license
  • Stay in school

These are some of my real goals :)

  • Save money better
  • Go to state in rodeo
  • Get all A's
  • Get in shape {i have been wanting to do cross country, but i have felt like i wasn't in shape enough so i kinda want to get in shape before i do that so i don't pass out while running 5 miles.}

Anyways i hope your resolutions go better then my probably will.

Have a wonderful new year!

{see how the chord isn't attached?}

So my friend Aubree just told me that i should write on my blog soon so this post is for her :)

i have a lot to say this time so next time i will put up some pictures ha

so a lot has been going on lately we had the blackfoot fair, i went to a rodeo last weekend, it's homecoming week at school, and we're getting ready for spud harvest!!

so the blackfoot fair was so much fun, i went three times this year the first time with Aubree ha the next time with my parents and Hali, and the third time with Aubree :)

We rode the rides ate TONS of delicious fair food! like tiger ears, strawberry banana and cheesecake kabobs, slushy lemonade, orange chicken and soo much more!!

The rodeo last weekend was super fun too! I ran Hailey's horse Jinny for the first time in the poles!! it was a lot of fun! but when we got there we thought we were going to have time and what not until i ran but they called my name like right when i pulled my horses out of the trailer and so they weren't warmed up or anything!! kind of a bummer but then again i got done so fast that it was kind of nice ha. but i was bummed because we left early so i couldn't see my good friend Hannah. :( what a bummer!

and this week is homecoming week, tomorrow is powder puff and i am soo excited!! i'll let you know how it goes!

xoxo
have a good week :)

So today was the first day of school..

I only have one fun class, Spanish!

Other then that this trimester is really boring.

But it's fine, it means one more year closer to graduating

and it's getting closer to my brother comeing home from his mission!!
